We booked this B&B via Hotels.com upon our mid-day arrival on a Friday at Genoa Piazza Principe train station, and enjoyed a leisure stroll through the historic center until we reached La Piazzetta Rooms around 4:00 p.m. The main door was locked, but a telephone number and free Wi-Fi passcode were clearly displayed on the door. This was very fortunate because our only way to call was using our iPad with just Wi-Fi. We were informed there was a mixup in our reservation, but someone would meet us at La Piazzetta Rooms in 20 minutes to rectify the situation. When the owners arrived they explained that La Piazzetta Rooms was fully booked long before the weekend, but Hotels.com (Expedia) neglected to update their database and should not have allowed us to book a room. Marco and Inna were very apologetic and assured us they could find a room at another B&B around the corner at no additional cost. While Marco made the arrangements, Inna graciously invited us to the breakfast room where she served us expresso and cookies. This gave us an opportunity to view their beautiful B&B, which was very clean, attractive, and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed a delightful chat with Marco and Inna, who are very friendly and personable, and they walked us to the other B&B and pointed out local history along the way. They remained with us while we checked in to make sure we were satisfied. We look forward to experiencing a delightful stay and hospitality at La Piazzetta Rooms next time we visit Genoa!

Nel cuore della bella Genova, camere comode e pulitissime, colazione varia e abbondante, ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. Ho soggiornato, con i miei figli piccoli, in due camere doppie, con bagno privato esterno alla camera, ma posso assicurare che il bagno esterno non è un problema. La posizione è eccezionale. Vicinissima a Piazza De Ferrari, permette di raggiungere a piedi e in pochi minuti l'Acquario, la Cattedrale e le strade dello shopping. La colazione, il pezzo forte, è dolce e salata; preparata dalla titolare, la sig.ra Elena, riesce a soddisfare tutti. Troverete cornetti, biscotti, cereali, affettati, yogurt home made e frutta; su richiesta vi saranno serviti caffè, cioccolate calde, cappuccini, ecc.

La struttura è molto curata, arredata con gusto in equilibrio tra tradizione e design, molto accogliente. Ogni stanza ha il suo bagno ed è connotata da uno stile particolare. Si trova in un palazzo antico prestigioso. Colazione entusiasmante per qualità dei prodotti, servizio e design del locale a vetrate. Titolare gentilissima e informata sulla città e sui servizi nei minimi particolari: un punto d'appoggio straordinario.

Superb bars and restaurants on the doorstep, including michelin star The Cook al Cavo, but our favourites were the cocktail bar Les Rouges Cucina & Cocktails and Trattoria Rosmarino. Genoa is truly an under-rated City. It's easy to amble around its many narrow streets with something of beauty to see at almost every Piazza. We did 2 days wandering and felt we had a really good sense of the place, including a 2 hour visit to the maritime museum. On the 3rd day we caught the 20 minute express train from Genoa Brignole station [15 min walk from the hotel] to St Margheurita Ligure and then took the ferry to Portofino which also only takes 15 minutes and is a lovely way to travel. We chose to visit the beach at San Fruttuoso first as it was a gorgeous sunny day, and then got the next ferry back to Portofino for lunch and a walk to the lighthouse then the boat back to SML at 5pm [the last ferry, though the buses run later]. We were back in genoa for a rest before dinner.

Super accueil de la propriétaire. Elle est très à l’écoute. La chambre est spacieuse et très propre avec une décoration très jolie. Nous étions dans la « romantica » Le petit déjeuner était très copieux avec un choix pour tous les goûts. Aussi, nous pouvions rentrer à l’heure que nous souhaitions puisqu’il nous a été remis un trousseau de clés. L’hôtel se situe en plein cœur de Genova avec le palazzo Ducale à 5mn ! Nous ne pouvons que recommander ! Effectivement, la salle de bain se trouve en face de la chambre ce qui n’est pas forcément pratique. Mais nous avions une clé personnelle pour celle-ci.

This is actually an unusual place. It is a B&B that feels quite well run but also with a personal touch. Each room has its own bathroom but on the other side of a hallway and not en suite. This works remarkably well and probably made the transformation of the apartment to B&B much easier. It also means that the rooms are bigger and more harmonious than they would otherwise have been. I used it for a conference trip largely because most hotels had been booked. Arguably, it is a place better suited to tourists, but I really enjoyed the spacious room and the very good breakfast despite the fact that the room was probably intended for a couple on vacation. The host is very pleasant and was happy to chat or help. Finally, the location seems perfect for Genoa. It is very close to Piazza de Ferrari.

A wonderful place to stay - thoroughly recommended. This was a fantastic little find which I would thoroughly recommend. It is central (as location is of utmost importance in a city like this) but also felt very homely and cosy. We felt very welcome as soon as we arrived, with our host giving us tips for visiting the city and showing us around. The rooms were very clean and spacious, with a satellite TV and a comfortable bed. The bathrooms were equally clean and well-kept. Breakfast was really lovely, as a help-yourself buffet with lots of options and fresh additions brought to the table (e.g. fresh fruit, pancakes, eggs etc) . I'm vegetarian so sometimes breakfasts don't cater very well for me but here I ate incredibly well. I really enjoyed staying here and would definitely stay here again if I were to visit Genoa.

Abbiamo trascorso una notte in questo carinissimo b&b. La gentilezza e la disponibilità della titolare sono qualità che si trovano nella Signora Elena e nelle sue collaboratrici. La stanza è davvero molto molto bella, pulita ed provvista di tutti i comfort necessari, a partire da cose come la TV fino ad arrivare al materasso che ci ha permesso di trascorrere una piacevolissima nottata. Appena abbiamo visto il bagno siamo rimasti piacevolmente sorpresi nel trovare un bagno super pulito e con ogni comodità annessa. La colazione è stata pazzesca, c’è davvero un po’ di tutto e soprattutto c’è un gran varietà che accontenta qualsiasi persona! Posizione ottima, in pochi minuti si possono raggiungere tutte le mete più ‘ambite’. Stra consigliato.. Ci ritorneremo!!
